Fall Skirts
Anyone who knows me knows I do not throw my fashion pieces away, EVER! That means I need to find ways to incorporate my spring and summer pieces to fall/winter as well. I love to accessorize different skirts with tights, boots, and thigh-high socks so I can continue to wear them all year long. I wanted to create a blog post sharing some fun ways to pair your skirt styles as the cold weather approaches.
Suede Skirt
I like to style my mini skirts with a knit sweater, tights, and over the knee boots. That combo for me is the key to dressing cute and staying warm in mini skirts through October and November. On warmer days I like to pair it with booties instead which also breaks up the material and outfit. This suede skirt from Lulus is absolutely my favorite and with the fall hues this skirt is a MUST for the fall. I paired it with a cream sweater so it would highlight the mix of colors in the skirt.
Fashion Trick: I like to roll my socks down and add some volume at my ankles (very Japanese thing to do LOVE IT). This is best accomplished with knee-high or over-the-knee socks and when it gets cold ROLL em UP! 😉
Midi Skirt
I’m in love with how midi skirts pair with boots! I purchased these blue beauties last season and they’ve been a fall/winter staple ever since. You can literally wear your spring/summer midi skirts and wear them all fall season, add a cute knit sweater and scarf for added warmth. You can also do the same with your spring/summer maxi skirts and pair it with your favorite fall booties.
Fashion Trick: I’m ALWAYS cold. So if you’re prone to freezing to death like myself I recommend getting footless tights (get the thick tights) and you can wear them under your maxi skirts to keep you warm. Same trick applies to midi skirts paired with knee high boots.
Skater Skirt
Who says you can’t rock those skater skirts that you paired with wedges and crop tops all summer 17 this fall. I swap my crop tops for more fabric and sleeves, maybe pair it with a sweater depending on the weather. Skater skirts look absolutely gorgeous with either knee-high (or higher) boots or with booties! I would opt against pairing them with mid-length boots, but as always express your fashion as it suits you!
