Hey There! I’m currently working on my Getaway Guide for Riviera Maya/Yucatan area of Mexico and cannot wait to share it with you all! While I’m wrapping that post up, I thought it would be fun to share some of my must haves for those beachy, tropical, resort-y type of vacations!
Its wintertime and super cold here in Northern California so why not? I would much rather pretend that I’m back in the warmth of the Yucatan!
Don’t forget, just like Santa, you’re making your list and checking it TWICE! See my must have items and links to some awesome products below!
1. Beach Bag
Can’t be spotted at the beach without the perfect beach bag or tote! I’ve linked a few awesome bags below, can’t tell if you guys can see that I have a slight obsession with pom poms!
2. Kick Ass Swim Suit and 3. Fun yet comfy sandals
A killer bathing suit and sandals are number 2 and 3 on my list for a resort getaway. Depending on the kind of person you are your bathing suit type will differ. I love to get pretty active when I’m on vacation so having a racer back bikini is always on my must bring. I’ve linked a few bathing suit options for you below!
What better way to keep the sun out your eyes then with a pair of cool shades! I always have a pair of shades in my purse, car, husband’s car, scattered throughout the house
5. Extra cotton-Light Weight Outfit
When I’m all wrapped up from a day at the beach I love to throw on a simple cotton dress or a simple romper. They weigh practically nothing and can be scrunched and tossed into your beach tote (item 1!). I’ve linked a few options below depending on your longitude and latitude!
Skip the traditional beach towel and swap it for these circular mandala! They are the best and definitely will have you standing out on the beach. I found mine on Amazon for SUPER CHEAP!! I’ve linked a few below! Note: Make sure you read the size descriptions and choose the right size for your next beach adventure! All the ones linked below start at under $25!!!
7. Cover Up
Definitely a must have item for me anytime I’m near water! Most “beach cities” are cool with their guests dining and lounging in their beach attire and I find cover-ups as the perfect accessory when I’m walking around shopping or looking for the nearest food source! If you’re ever in a situation where you need full clothing, well that’s why I recommended the extra cotton clothing! Always be prepared!
There are so many options for coverups from kaftans/caftans to sarongs, to sheer skirts and dresses! I’ve linked a few options below but please note that the skies the limit here ladies! You can get these in any color, texture, material, style! So pick the one that best fits YOU!
P.S. I’m really falling in love with the kaftan dress/cover up look!
8. Bold Beach Accessories – earrings, boho acessories
Get your beach hand strong!! Add some fun boho jewelry on your body, hands, ankles, or wherever you may please. It’s fun to add some bling to your beach look for some versatility, plus you’ll be standing out in the crowd <3! If you’re not big on statement jewelry or pieces, opt for fun colorful earrings that stand out!
Thank you all for reading <3 can’t wait to share my Getaway Guide for Riveria Maya/Playa Del Carmen/Tulum coming soon! I was so inspired while wrapping up the blog post that I had to create a separate blog on just prepping for it!
