Hey Loves! Happy February! Can you guys believe that we’re already into our second month of 2018…like seriously where has the time gone! Last year, I created a fun look book for Valentines Day, if you didn’t have a chance to check it out, I’ve linked them for your convenience (Valentine’s Day Look Book 1, Valentine’s Day Look Book 2, Valentine’s Day Look Book 3, and Valentine’s Day Look Book 4 ).
This year, I wanted to do something similar but different. Instead of going with the typical pinks and reds, I thought it would be fun to create looks in every color except pink and red!
To be honest, they’re both pretty bright colors (unless you’re going for blush vibes) and understandably not for everyone.
Fun Fact: I personally do not like the color red nor do I like bright/highligther/neon pink, simply because I don’t feel that it looks good on my tone and complexion (accessories are great though). So this post for all my ladies who are in the same predicament and are looking to step outside the box this V-Day!
Sprinkle Some Gold….
If you’re into metallics like me, then opt for some metallic pieces this V-Day! It’s super girly, festive, and will definitely get you stares from your honey! Now that New Years is over a lot of boutiques are marking down their metallic pieces so that means you can snag them on a steal!! I’ve linked some fun metallic pieces in gold and silver below!
Use Floral Patterns…
Another fun way to incorporate girly or feminine looks to your outfit is the use of floral prints and patterns. Sure many of hints of pink, orange, or red but winter is a popular time for dark floral prints and patterns. Think blue, green, and yellow florals…
…Because Burgundy is Not Red or Pink
A fan of the red and pink hues but not into super flashy colors? Well opt for burgundy this V-day! Fall is my favorite season and finding adorable burgundy pieces is definitely one of the perks of fall. You can pair it with a variety of colors and still romantic and feminine for holidays like Valentines Day.,.
Opt for Flashy Accessories…
Why not use red or pink as your prime accessory colors? One of my favorite mottos when I cannot find anythnig to wear is, “black, white, pick a color…”. Meaning choose black or white bottoms and pick a top in the opposite, and now pair with a bright color! I loved to pair my polka-dot skirt with this magenta color which made me feel like a girl flashback to the 70’s (i think…since I wasn’t around then).
Thanks so much for reading! I hope you have a fabulous Valentines Day! Happy February!
